Overmolding

Overmolding is a complex process where two different materials are combined to make a single finished product. ProtoCafe has perfected this intricate process to provide the highest quality overmolded products with incredibly accurate precision.

The following examples show a portion of some of the complex projects that we are equipped to handle:

• Combining materials of two different durometers (i.e. stiff plastic frame with a rubberized grip on a handle)
• Overmolding onto a client supplied substrate (i.e. strain reliefs overmolded onto cables)
• Enclosed electronics (i.e. overmolding a casing over PCBs).
